witness to a crime

every saturday, i usually just go to a friends house, or maybe go watch a movie, you know, just chill out and stuff. and usually, i also end up going home late, around 12 mn or so. at this time, all stoplights are usually off and go blinkety-blink. so given there are no stoplights, i take my time going home, look both ways when crossing intersections... you know - more careful than usual.

as i was at the corner of paseo and makati ave, a speeding CRV comes out of nowhere and WHAM hits a guy riding a motorcycle! it was so surreal. i couldn't believe it was happening - parang sine. he got pinned under the CRV, with his bike on him and the car just kept on going for a few meters or so until he swerved a bit and got the bike off his car and sped away.

my first instinct was to run after the CRV and get the license plate but when i saw the guy lying down on the street, i just had to stop. some guards from the nearby building saw it happen as well so i quickly parked the car and shouted at the guards asking "nakuha niyo yung plate number?? dadalhin ko siya sa ospital!"

i called D to come and help me since he lives so near and we brought the guy to the nearby ospital ng makati. they guy had nasty gashes on his arms and face, as well as a big cut on his chin. i hope he doesnt have any broken bones or anything.

anyway, im just so angry at what happened and a bit inis at myself for not going with my gut and running after the CRV. i mean, that was the best chance of giving justice to this poor guy on the motorcycle diba?? arrrrggghhhhhhhhh..but thats what i think...

what would you have done if you were me?

omg! I can't imagine witnessing such a thing ... but your question is something to ponder on... what would I have done? ... Aside from shake in fear and shock ... I guess I would've done the exact same thing as you. Not knowing the rider's condition and all ... and not knowing if anyone else would stop to help him ... I'd do what you did ... You did good, Cornets! :) acutally great! You did great!!! ...

I started this blog months ago to write about things I like, and in no particular order, my top 4 are food, travel, people, and sports.

My entries can be a mix and match of all four, so hope you do enjoy!
